Internet
The Internet is a huge system that covers the entire globe. It is often
referred to as the World Wide Web (WWW). The Internet is comprised of
computer networks that are interconnected and exchange data in packets
of data that are switched by using the standardized Internet Protocol
Suite (TCP/IP).
There are literally millions of public, government, private and business
local and global networks included in the gigantic Internet system. These
individual networks in the Internet are connected to each other using
copper wires, wireless connections, fiber-optic cables and other types
of technologies.
Some of the different types of information (content) and services carried
by Internet are electronic mail (email), interlinked hypertext (HTML)
documents, file transfers, file sharing, online chat, online gaming and
other resources.
