Online Card Game

I love cards, but the problem is that with my busy schedule and the busy schedules of all my friends and most of my family, it is hard to set aside an evening to play poker like we used to. In my opinion, this is quite a shame. There is nothing like just sitting down with all of your friends for a nice evening of cards, talking about the week, having a few drinks and some snacks, and laughing over old times and good memories.

It is just the best way there is for me to enjoy my friends, and that is that. But the next best thing, that is if you only have a few minutes to spare, is to play online card games.

The great thing about an online card game is how easy everything about it is. There is no calling up everyone and trying to figure out the right time to meet with an online card game, because you sign in and, like magic, everyone is already there, along with virtual cards and a virtual table. Everything is already shuffled, no one can cheat, and there is nothing to the online card game, but to sit down and play the hand. And if you get bored – no biggie. You can leave the online card game whenever you want, or go sit in on another one. I even know people who will play two or three online card games simultaneously. Now that takes some dedication.

And you can even make friends in an online card game, although not necessarily as close as the friends that you make playing a real game of cards. When playing card games online, there is the opportunity for conversation, all done through text, and since people are not face to face, the normal nervousness about meeting strangers does not hold.

What is great about talking to people during an online card game is what is great about the internet in general – you can be whoever you want to be at any time, and no one can really question you. And if you feel bored or uncomfortable, hey – you can leave whenever you want. It has many of the advantages of real face to face socialization without the drawbacks of commitment, or effort. Still, there is nothing that beats meeting the friends for poker night, and maybe winning a twenty or two off of the old pals which you can use to buy booze for the next poker night.
